Golden Triangle Business Improvement District
PROJECT DETAILS
Scope: Low-Impact Development Demonstration Project
Location: Washington, DC
Scope of Work
After obtaining the required permits from the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs and the District Department of the Environment, Arya Civil designed and constructed an advanced bioretention facility on a traffic island at the intersection of Rhode Island Avenue, Connecticut Avenue and M Street NW, an area that included impervious cover in the surrounding high-pedestrian and -vehicular traffic area. This facility also needed to be aesthetically appealing given its location in the heart of the highly influential downtown Washington, D.C.
Project HIghlights
This traffic island had underground utilities such as communication, electric duct banks, and combined sewers. In completing this high-profile project, Arya Civil needed to convert an impervious area and install educational signs, railings, and a sidewalk with ADA compliance.
