Arlington National Cemetery

PROJECT DETAILS

Scope: Road Repairs for Ord and Weitzel Drive

Location: Arlington, Virginia

Scope of work

As part of a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, Arya Civil installed a storm water management system on Ord and Weitzel Drive in the northwest corner of Arlington National Cemetery. It required 3,000 cubic yards of deep excavation; shoring, erosion and sediment control device installation; and extensive dewatering. We also installed a StormTech Underground Infiltration system, concrete junction box, and hydrodynamic separator.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

To complete this challenging project, Arya Civil needed to excavate trenches that were 25 feet deep, 22 feet wide and 120 feet long and tie them in to a storm drain 60 inches in diameter. These repairs were completed adjacent to the cemetery with only limited access points. This project included Green Infrastructure elements.
